The 28 years old is among 10 players the Confederation of Africa Football, CAF have axed from the tournament in Morocco

The players were dropped due to “medical reasons” relating to high testosterone level

Morocco’s Nahla Élodie Nakkach, Botswana duo Nondi Mahlasela and Lesego Radiakanyo, Zambia’s striker, Barbara Banda, Charlotte Millogo of Bukina Faso, Saffira Guinand of Burundi and Claudia Dabda of Cameroon are all affected

Others axed from the tournament include Senegal’s Safietou Sagna and Afi Woedikou of Togo

Best Choice Sports can report that Zambia’s captain, Barbra Banda was disqualified from playing in the 2022 Women’s AFCON tournament in Morocco for reportedly having a high testosterone level.

Barbara Banda is considered “a man” and disqualified from the tournament due to high testosterone

Testosterone is the primary sex hormone and anabolic steroid in males. A report said Banda was no longer deemed as a woman.

She plays in the Chinese women’s league for Shanghai Shengli. She won the golden boot in 2020.

Francisca Ordega has featured in the last four editions of WAFCON winning all.

CAF is reluctant to issue an official statement as the development has not been received by stakeholders.

The Nigeria Football Federation NFF have also not issued a statement on this development.

The Falcons will open their title defence against South Africa later today at the Stade Moulay Hassan Rabat, by 6pm

The Women’s Africa Cup of Nations got underway bin Morocco on Saturday with the Atlas Lionesses winning their opening match 1-0 against debutants, Burkina Faso.
