FCT Football Coaches Association Holds Abuja City Cup Competition

In anticipation of the total relaxation of the Lockdown and approval for the resumption of contact sports, the Federal Capital Territory Football Coaches Association has initiated its post COVID-19 activities which will include the hosting of the Abuja City Cup football competition and a health seminar, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report
Disclosing this plan to our correspondent in Abuja Saturday, the Chairman of the Association, Coach Godwin Bamigboye explained that these steps are deliberate to enable players and their coaches gradually restore into active football activities after a long time of inactivity which might have resulted into rustiness.
The Chairman noted that if the lockdown is lifted now, there will be no official Football Association event like the annual AITEO Cup nor will the FCT League hold.
The Abuja City Cup which is the initiative of Grassroot Sports and Marketing Limited was embraced by the Association and promptly a letter has been forwarded to the FCT Football Association for endorsement and collaboration.
This competition will fill the gap prior to when the new football season will kick off in FCT.
Bamigboye called on government and private sector organizations, including individuals to give support to this event that will bring multiple benefits to football stakeholders particularly the youths in FCT in addition to projecting and promoting the image of the FCT in the mould of Helsinki Cup in Finland, Norway Cup in Norway and Dallas Cup in the United States of America.
