The FCT Football Coaches Association Monday held a novelty match in honour of the FCT FA 2^nd Vice Chairman and Executive Chairman, Bwari Area Council, Dr Gabaya Shekwogaza Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The association also unveiled Dr John as its patron during the match.

The match which kicked off by 4pm was played at the Bwari Area Township stadium with FCT selected coaches trading tackles with the Bwari coaches selected 11.

The novelty match, according to the FCT Football Coaches Association Chairman, Godwim Bamigboye, in an interview is part of activities lined up by the association to honour him after he emerged victorious in the March 2019 general election as well as his emergence as the 2^nd Vice Chairman of the FCT FA in the June 20, 2019 FA election in the federal capital.

Mr Bamigboye further noted that part of activities to honour Dr Gabaya Shekwogaza include an investiture to induct him as the patron of the association stressing that his emergence as the Council Chairman is a big plus tp the FCT FA board in view of the fact that the board now has a member who is closer to the government.

“We are not saying that he is going to use the resources of the Area Council to support the FCT FA but through him, the voice of the board can easily be heard. Since he is the Chairman, we also believe that he can champion the grassroots football development not just in his council but in the entire FCT.

“To honour him, we are going to decorate him as one of our patrons. Don’t forget that former NFF president, Alhaji Sani Lulu is the Chief Patron of the FCT Football Coaches Association. We also have the former AIG of police, Sani Mohammed as patron. We are bringing Dr Gabaya on board as one of our patrons and we will decorate him during the match. In fact his investiture as one of our patron is another major reason for the novelty match.

“As we are honouring him, we will also present a congratulatory message to him,” he said.

FCT Coaches won their Bwari counterpart by a lone goal.
