FIFA Council: Pinnick Coasting To Victory AS Three Candidates Step-down
By Amaechi Agbo
Ahead of today’s Confederation of Africa Football, CAF elections, Nigeria’s Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick is reportedly cruising to victory in his quest to be a member of FIFA Council, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report
Latest report from Rabat, Morocco, venue of the election indicates that three of Pinnick’s challengers, Zambian, The Gambian as well as the Tanzanian have all stepped down for the former CAF First Vice President.
According to MFM FC Director of Sports, Godwin Enakhena, he noted Friday morning that the withdrawal of the three candidates has left the NFF boss with only two other candidates of Malawi and Kenya to contend with.
“Amaju Pinnick coasting to victory in FIFA Council election. Candidates from Zambia, Gambia and Tanzania step down to support the NFF boss.
“That leaves Malawian and Kenyan candidates in the race with him. FG delegation arrives Morocco, election is from 10am today,” he said in tweet post by 1am Friday morning.
However, it was not clear if the Zambian candidate Kamanga Ndanga Andrew has discontinued his ambition as he was listed by CAF as one of the candidates due to vie for a seat at FIFA Council.
