FIFA Reveals Official Emblem For 2019 Club World Cup

Excitement is building up for the sale of tickets for the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup as the emblem of the tournament to be hosted by Qatar has officially been unveiled.

With 50less than 50 days left before the 16th edition of the tournament starts in Qatar, the official emblem of the tournament has been made public.

The emblem highlights the cultural history of the host country and embodies the pinnacle of global club football.

One of the elements of the emblem reimagines football as a pearl, this is in recognition of one of Qatar’s earliest industries.

Traditional architectural elements found across residences the Middle East, mashrabiyas, are reflected on the decoration of the iridescent sphere.

Mashrabiya latticework-like pearl diving- has deep roots. Their decorative screens play a dual role. They serve in cooling homes and provide an eye catching decorations both inside and outside the house. Early examples date as far back as the Middle Ages.

Burgundy are colours featured on the emblem. It is so characteristic of the Qatari nation and the deep turquoise of Doha Bay.

The pearl is held aloft by shapes reminiscent of sweeping desert and sand. A fundamental element of the Arabic alphabet, diacritics, is also visible on the emblem.

The competition will be played from December 11, to December 21, 2019. The next big event regarding the tournament will be the upcoming Visa Presale.

The competition groups together all the Continental Champions.

Five of the seven teams to play in this year’s tournament are already known.

Esperance of Tunis, the current African Champions League holders will represent Africa, while 2019 UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool FC will represent UEFA.

Monterrey of Mexico will be The Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football’s (CONCACAF) representative, while Hienghène Sports will be the Oceania Football Confederation’s (OFC ) representative.

Al- Sadd of Qatar will play the competition as the host club. They are the winners of the 2018/2019 Qatar Stars League.

The South America Football Confederation, (CONMEBOL) and The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) are still to determine their representatives.
