FFIA Friday unveiled the 88 officials who will be in charge of the 52 matches that will be played at this year’s tournament.

A breakdown of the number shows that 26 referees will be in the centre of the field to oversee the matches while 47 assistant referees will support them.

While 15 Video Assiatant Referees will monitor the matches from the VAR section.

FIFA confirmed the number on its twitter handle Friday saying “The biggest squad of the #FIFAWWC managed by @KSeitz5, has arrived in France today.

So far, a total of 771 goals have been scored since the tournament’s inception.

This summer, it’s all about the women. Twenty-four teams will play out 52 games for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, and with the women’s game stronger than ever, France 2019 promises to be the most exciting and competitive tournament to date.
