Flamingos Coach, Olowookere Resigns
Nigeria U-17 female national team coach, Bankole Oloowokere has resigned from his position as Chief coach of Nigeria Women Football League side, DreamSrar FC, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.
Oloowokere’s resignation from the club he helped to retain its league status is not unconnected with his confirmation as the Chief coach of the national U-17 female team, the Flamingos.
The club confirmed the departure of the coach on Monday and disclosed that his position has since been filled by Coach Anya Ugochi
The club added that Bankole Oloowokere’s departure was by mutual consent,.
His departure comes a year after he helped the team retain its status in the Nigerian women’s elite league, the NWFL Premiership through the play-off.
The Flamingos Head Coach led the Pride of Lagos to a big win against Heartland Queens FC and his side also became the first and only side to score against Adamawa Queens in the 2018/2019 season.
“The club wishes to make it clear that Oloowokere left on good terms and will always remain a much-loved, respected and significant figure at DreamStar FC Ladies”.
“We appreciate all his contributions to the club, since he became manager seventeen months ago.” The club said in a statement.
Coach Anya Ugochi, who replaces the Ekiti-born gaffer is a CAF C holder, and has been appointed to lead the Galacticas ahead of the rebranded NWFL premiership.
The 2020/2021 NWFL season is expected to start latest by December this year.
