Flying Eagles’ Striker Scores AGAINST Maduka Okoye in Pre-season Encounter
By Francis Achi
Flying Eagles striker, Salim Fargo Lawal on Wednesday scored against Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye in a Pre-season clash and later revealed what the shotstoper told him.
Lawal showed his predatory instinct as he scored against Okoye in a pre- seaaon game between Udinese and NK 1961 Istra on Wednesday
It was pure striker’s goal and the build- up from the left side of the attack of NK1960 Istra showed Salim running into the box where he connected the low cross with a cool finish in the 39th minute.
Although Lawal and his teammates lost the friendly game 4- 1 to Udinese, there was no doubt that the former Mavlon FC of Lagos attacker was a torn in the flesh of Udinese’s defenders.
Little wonder that after the game, Maduka Okoye had to commend the young Nigerian striker for his performance as revealed by Lawal
“It was mixed feeling for me despite scoring because my team lost the game 4-1, though it was friendly, but we were not happy. The good thing was the commendation I got from Maduka Okoye for my goal against him and my overall performance.” Lawal said.
“I hope to continue working hard and improving my game as we prepare for the new season,” he added.
