Former NFF President To Splash N10.8m Scholarship On Student-players
Former NFF President, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi will this weekend award academic scholarship worth over N10.8 million on 15 outstanding student-players selected from the recently organised football competitions in Kogi State and and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.
According to the programme of events released by the Secretary of FOSLA Academy Patrick Ngwaogu, the list of the lucky students would be drawn from the Sixty players that were selected from the 2019 edition of the FOSLA U.13 Football Competition organised in Kogi State and the FCT.
According to the Scribe, “When the tournament was organised in Kogi State early in the year, 22 boys and 8 girls were selected. Same number was selected in the same event held in the FCT recently. The 60 students will join the other fee paying students to write the School’s Common Entrance examination holding on Saturday 27 April at the school premises, Karshi Abuja. Thereafter, the players selected from the two tournaments will play against themselves, where those who excelled in both the game and the entrance examination, will be awarded the Academy’s scholarship”.
Ngwaogu said 10 boys and 5 girls will benefit from scholarship which will see them through their secondary education at FOSLA Academy Abuja, and University.
Over 100 student-players are enjoying the scholarship programme which was instituted by the former NFF President and FCT Director of Sports in 2011. The first two sets of graduates from the programme are currently studying various academic programmes at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
