Culture is an integral part of human existence as it not only identifies a people, but encapsulates everything about them from belief, marital rites, burial procession, naming ceremonies, holidays and mentality

Thus, it is a remarkable feat and a thing of National pride, that Hon Barr Solomon Dalung, kick started a carnival that celebrates his people and his roots

The Tarok, who have had mingling with the Igbos, are known for their creativity, tenacity and rich cultural heritage, all of which have been placed on a platform, for the world to not just recognise, but accord full respects, in the Tarok Cultural Carnival

I hereby celebrate with my amazing friend and mentor, Hon Barr Solomon Dalung, on the occasion of this year’s carnival, even as I apologise for my absence but will surely make plans to witness next year’s edition

Nigeria is rich is culture and tradition, most of whom remain largely unknown, so it is highly commendable what Hon Barr Solomon Dalung has done and is doing, which is worthy of emulation across the Nation

I expect this carnival to garner international recognition soon as one of the most recognized cultural festivals in Nigeria and Africa, just as the Afia Olu Nnewi, Ofalla Onitsha and Argunugu Festival
