After featuring in the 2018 FCT Football Association League where they came second, Fosla Football Club, FFC will next season seek new challenge in the Nationwide League One, NLO.

The Karshi, Abuja-based club is eager to take the league by storm come next season.

Speaking with our correspondent at the end of the club’s management meeting Saturday, coach of the side, Samuel Abimbola said the decision to take up the new challenge at the NLO was to keep the team together, stabilise it and ensure cohesion.

Coach Abimbola noted that the FFC players who are all undergraduates at the Nasarawa State University, Laffia, are ready to take the opportunity to enhance their career.

“We had the meeting to fashion out ways to keep the FOSLA old boys together, mainly those who have played in the state league. The third set of graduands just left the school and there is the urgent need for us to bring them back together and prepare them for the new challenge ahead.

“The management decided that the team is ripe enough to play in the Nationwide League One, NLO so that we can expose them and prepare them for the league while they are combing their education and football so that they will not sacrifice one for another.

“Since we finished the state league last year, we have not been able to bring them together because some of them were pursuing their admissions and those who have admissions were preparing for exams and now that everything has stabilised, we felt it is the right time to bring them together for effective preparations ahead of the new season.

“Do not also forget, that the proprietor also pursued his gubernatorial career in Kogi State APC primary and now that things are stabilised, it is now time for us to regroup, plan and restrategise to bring the boys together and prepare for the NLO. So it is a new challenge and with the crop of players in the team, I have full confidence in them to go far in the league.

“With what I saw the team do last season in the state league and the second set of graduands that I took to Keffi to play for the best team there, I feel it is necessary to give them greater challenge.

“We are playing in the NLO at this point because they cannot combine their education with NNL fixtures. I have been in the NNL and the NPFL and have seen it all.

“These boys are very good because they keep interpreting things even above their age. So for me, I do not have any fear and we fear no foe going into the NLO and I am confident that they will really make the management proud,” he said.
