The Super Falcons of Nigeria Monday departed the shores of the country for Austria, where they will set up a two-week residential camping before flying to France for the 8^th FIFA Women’s World Cup taking place 7^th June – 7^th July, 2019.

The African champions left Nigeria less than 48 hours after they returned from Abidjan where they won the WAFU Women’s Cup beaten the host nation, Cote D’Ivoire on Saturday.

Before their departure, head Coach Thomas Dennerby, thanked the Nigeria Football Federation for their support to the team since World Cup qualification and promised that the team would go to France to do her best adding that the never-give-up spirit the team displayed in Abidjan will spur them for France World Cup.

“I want to thank the NFF for their huge support to the team since the team qualified for the World Cup, with all the friendly tournaments and camping that we have had. We will go to France to give our best effort.

“The never-say-die, never-give-up attitude of the Super Falcons in the WAFU was amazing and I really, really love that. It means that this team has learnt to fight till the last second of every game and that spirit will be massive for us at the World Cup.,” he said

Eight home-based players, alongside technical and administrative officials led by Head Coach Thomas Dennerby travelled aboard Air France flight to Paris, to connect the Austrian city of Bad Tatzmannsdorf, where they will perfect tactics and strategies at the Avita Resort before hitting France on 4^th June for the World Cup finals.
