Future Eagles Beat Southwark Soccer 3-1 in A Friendly

In continuation of its preparation ahead of next Month’s Japan Invitational, Nigeria’s Under 16 team, the Future Eagles Saturday defeated Southwark Soccer 3-1 in a friendly match, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The match which was against the Southwark U-19 boys was played at Gateway Stadium Sagamu, and was the second tuneup game the team is playing within twenty-hours.

On Friday, the Future Eagles thrashed Sagamu FC 6-1

Speaking with Bestchoicesports.com.ng after the match, coach of the team, Haruna Ilerika told our correspondent that the match is part of friendlies lined up for the team in order to put them in shape and test their mental and tactical awareness.

He added that although the lads did not do badly, they are still work in progress stressing that they would play a four-club invitational tournament in the camp before the Japan tourney.

“It was a warm up matche and the essence is to finetune our tactical play.

“I am impressed by their response and they are getting better day by day

“It was Not a bad match, the boys are gradually responding to our strategy. The scoreline is not important, what is important is for them to understand our philosophy and stick to it.

“We are still in camp and may likely play 4 club tournament,” the coach said.

The Japan International Invitation Tournament will kick off on 11 June, 2019.

Nigeria, Japan, Mexico and Romania are the four nations taking part in the tournament.
