G-Innovation FC Boss Set To Develop Football In Imo State

The proprietor of Nigeria amateur league side G- Innovation  Football Club (GIFC) Mr. Chigozie  Nwagwu ,has spoken of his desire to beam his talent searchlight  to the South East following abundant of raw skills in the  region.

GIFC which was established in 2014 in Lagos began on a modest note but has since risen as one of the notable amateur clubs in the country.

Currently campaigning in the amateur divisions in the Nigeria NationWide League, NLO; Gozie told Wakawaka online Sports tabloid that the need to fish from the pool of talents in the East has necessitated his move .

“Sustenance is on our mind, we have come 14 years down the line and must do everything possible to ensure the club keep churning out quality talents that we are known for”

“We have produced quite an amount of notable players like Saheed Ogunmoye who is currently plying his trade with Nigeria National League(NNL) side,ABS of Ilorin,Promise Kelvin and Odok Bisong all of Rovers of Calabar also in the NNL.

“We also have as our product Asuzu Anayo of Nigeria Premier League Club, Football Club Ifeanyi (FCIU) and Ariyo Ahmed of Abia Comets in the NNL”

According to Chigozie,Imo state is noted to have produced world class players like Kanu Nwankwo and many others,hence the need to further explore the region for talents.

Chigozie also stated that GIFC has teamed up with some clubs and coaches who believe in their philosophy or catching and grooming talents.

He listed coach Fidelis Ilechukwu of Heartland FC as a role model when it comes to hunting and encouraging talents.

Chigozie noted that focus from the grassroots remains the spring board to further grow football in Nigeria.

World football governing body FIFA he said strategically have planned the growth of the beautiful game by encouraging its competition at various levels.
