A Division One League club side in Ghana, Unity FC Has been banned from participating in the league following repeated several matches unhonoured.

The club was banned for failing to honour seven matches in the league, a situation that did not go down well with the organisers

Consequently, Unity FC was banned from taking part in subsequent matches of the Division One League (Zone 1B) to maintain the sporting integrity of the competition.

The Ghana Football Association, GFA Disciplinary Committee arrived at the decision following charges imposed on the club for missing seven Division One League matches.

As a result, three points and three goals shall be awarded in favour of all opposing Clubs scheduled to play Unity FC in the league.

The committee also imposed a fine of ten thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc10,000.00) on Unity FC payable to the GFA.

Local report says the decision has been communicated to the Club and the GFA Competition’s department accordingly.
