“I am very happy that my team played the U-20 national team. I first of all want to thank the Chairman of the club who is the vision behind the team. He is a man who has passion for the youths and wants them to be fully engaged to be meaningful in their lives. He has been sponsoring people in various human endeavours, so football is not just the only thing.
“He has passion for youths’ development and that is why he established Godosky International Football Club. We are going to play in the NLO 1 but we are not going there just to make the numbers.
“Our target is that in five years’ time, we will one of the teams to beat in Nigeria league. The players have all it takes. We have a good team and they are talented but it is too early to assess them because they just come together. We have engaged professionals to be in charge of the team and that is why within a month, we came all the way from Anambra state to play the Flying Eagles.
“Our mission is to grow higher for the world to know us and also to show the world the talents we have in our team. So that is why we travelled all the way from Anambra State, Ezinifite in Nnewi South Local Government to come and play the friendly in Abuja. We have the vision and we want to go higher.
“The club started five years ago and we have been playing some leagues in the state but because we have vision, we needed to go higher, not just to play but to learn. To challenge those who can give us the fight to improve. We have been playing series of friendlies. Our target is to belong to where football belongs,” he said.
Mr Chijioke also said that although it is not easy to fund a private club in the country for obvious economic reasons, he however said that the club has its head above waters when it comes to funding.
