Golden Eaglets To Embark On U-17 World Training Tour October 8

Nigeria’s national U-17 male team, the Golden Eaglets will leave the shores of the country to Brazil in continuation of preparations ahead of the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup later in the month, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.
With less than 25 days to the commencement of the two-yearly tournament in
Brazil, coach of the Eaglets, Manu Garba has disclosed that the team will leave
for Sao Paulo, Brazil for a training tour on Monday next week.
He added that a total of 30 players will take part in the training tour which will be reduced to the final 21 players for the championship slated to hold in Brazil.
Coach Garba who noted that the participation of the team at the UEFA/CAF
Tourney in Turkey yielded fruitful results adding that the 2-1 loss to fellow
Africans, Senegal at the tournament was as result of superior preparation by
the Senegalese.
“The team will continue preparation with the training tour in Brazil with 30 players and everything working out fine, the team will leave on October 8.
“The training in Sao Paulo, Brazil will afford the team to access all the
players before making decision on the final 4-2 players that will represent
Nigeria at the 2019 Brazil FIFA Under 17 World Cup.
“The UEFA/CAF Tourney was a huge success to us in view of our target. The loss against Senegal was avoidable having led 2-1 in the first half, before crumbling 2-4 to the same team at the end of 90mins.
“The Senegal team that defeated Nigeria had 8 players that featured at the
football event of the 12th African Games in Rabat, Morocco and the same team
travelled to France for another tournament before playing at the UEFA/CAF
tournament in Turkey,” he said.
The 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup will be hosted in Brazil between 26 October and 17 November, 2019.
