Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the immediate reappointment of Mr Emmanuel Zira as Chairman of the state owned football club, Adamawa United, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Emmanuel Zira was removed in May 2019 after he led Adamawa United back to the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL but a change in government, saw him being removed as the administrative head of the club

Ahmadu Fintiri, in a letter obtained by our correspondent on Monday said that Mr Zira’s re-engagement is with immediate effect.

The letter reads: “Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the reinstatement of Mr Emmanuel Zira as Chairman of the Adamawa United Football Club.

“He also congratulates him on his return as the Chairman of the club.

“Governor Fintiri congratulates him over the reinstatement hoping that it will be a motivation to reignite the round leather game and take Adamawa to an enviable position.

The governor Mr Zira as a sport enthusiast, seasoned administrator and believed the team will return to their good days under his watch.

“A sports enthusiast and administrator, Mr Zira led Adamawa United Football Club of Yola to qualify for the Premier League in the 2005/2006 season. The club currently plays in the elite Nigeria Professional Football League. The appointment is with immediate effect,” the letter concluded.

Adamawa United who returned to the NPFL last season following a successful campaign in the Nigeria National League, NNL, currently occupies the bottom log of the 2019/2020 season.

The club have 20 points from 25 matches.
