West African nation, Guinea have been banned from participating in the 2021 and 2023 editions of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations and disqualified from the FIFA U-17 World Cup to be hosted in Brazil later this year after fielding two ineligible players – Aboubacar Conte and Ahmed Tidiane Keita – in the 2019 AFCON U-17 championship held in
Tanzania against Senegal, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The decision was made earlier this week by the Confederation of African Football’s Disciplinary Council, which met at the governing body’s headquarters in Cairo, Egypt to reach a consensus after a complaint by the Senegalese Football Federation concerning the aforementioned players.

The dates of birth revealed before the game indicated that Conte and Keita were born in 2002, which contradicted the pair’s details as they were submitted for a youth tournament in Japan in 2017, which showed the duo’s dates of birth to be in 2001.

CAF Disciplinary committee have recommended the disqualification of Guinea U17 from the FIFA World Cup in Brazil after reviewing Senegal’s petition where they accused Guinea of using 2 overaged players, a claim that was supported by Japan’s football federation which produced documents they used in an earlier competition hosted in Japan to substantiate the claims.

Guinea will no longer take part in CAF Competition for 2 years as CAF has impose 2 tournaments’ ban on Guinea Football Federation and will pay a Fine of $100,000 to CAF.

A check on 2019 FIFA U-17 Wold Cup Wikipedia profile indicates that Senegal will now replace Guinea in the FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil later this year after ratification by the Confedration of Africa Football, CAF.

Guinea finished as runners-up at the U-17 Nations Cup, defeating Nigeria on penalties in the semi-final, before a shootout defeat at the hands of Cameroon in the final.
