I Am Hungry To Win Trophies With Rangers – Ilechukwu Declares

Newly appointed Technical Adviser of Rangers International FC of Enugu, Mr Fidelis Ilechukwu has revealed his hunger to win laurels with the seven-time Nigeria Premier League, NPL winners.

Mr Ilechukwu stayed this during his unveiling by Rangers in Enugu on Wednesday where he signed a two-year contract with the 2016 NPL winners.

Addressing journalists on his personal Target for the club, Ilechukwu who just left Plateau United in June noted that although the fans are hungry to see Rangers return to winning ways, he is more hungrier to see the Flying Antelopes fly higher.

While explaining the importance of winning trophies to the fans by the club, the former MFM FC coach said that not winning the NPL trophy at his level in the league is a motivation to. Real the jinx with Rangers.

“Fans will not be happy if at the end of the day we didn’t break the jinx of continental ticket in the state. Nobody will tell me that. The fans are hungry, I am hungry as well.

“At this level of handling clubs in the Nigeria Premier League without winning the trophy is not good for me as well. If you want to get something, you need to get someone who is as hungry as you before it works.

“If only one party is hungry and the other one is not, it will not work. Fans need it but I need it more. I need it the way they need it and I believe the management as well needs it.

“Apart from that, I am one of the best managers when it comes to managing human beings apart from football. I know how we are going to do it. I promise that I will not disappoint them in Enugu State,” hé said.

He also expressed the need for the management to recruit quality players who will do the job for Rangers

“I need a formidable force to make sure we win the league. I don’t just want to be a coach who will just participate and go home, I want to win,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Rangers International FC have setup 11-mam recruitment committee to see to the need if the need coach and also fast-track Ilechukwu’s quest to return the seven-time Nigeria Premier League champions to winning ways and continental football.

The committee is headed by former Super Eagles and Rangers, Chairman Christian Chukwu.
