I Am Only Human And Make Mistakes – Balogun’s Apology After Madagascar Howler
Super Eagles and Brighton & Hove central defender, Leon Balogun has issued a 53-word apology to the team’s fans after his error led to the opening goal scored by Madagascar against Nigeria on Sunday.
The Islanders were handed a gift by Balogun who fumbled with a pass from John Ogu before Nomenjanahary pounced and rounded Ikechukwu Ezenwa to break the deadlock after 12 minutes.
The defeat was costly as it saw Gernot Rohr’s men relinquish the top spot in Group B and they could face perennial rivals Ghana in the round of sixteen this weekend.
Balogun, who let the dust settle a bit, has apologized on Twitter and accepted full responsibility for his action.
He tweeted : ”You can love me or either leave me, but I’m only human & I make mistakes. Try not to hold that against me tho.
”I accept full responsibility for my actions, so if ya’ll expect me to be perfect, I apologize for being human. No mistake’s too great to recover and bounce back 💪🏽🦅🇳🇬”.
