Imo State capital, Owerri, will be on the spotlight as the Eastern Heartland plays host to the annual World Judo Day event.

In a statement released by the South-East Zonal Representative, Nigeria Judo Federation, Madugba Nnanyereugo, said the theme is “Inclusion”, slated to hold on 28th October, 2022.

According to the release, Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, will host the event that is billed to run from 26th-28th October, 2022.

Nnanyereugo went further to say that the World Judo Day is an annual event mandated by International Judo Federation, IJF, to be celebrated annually in remembrance of the founder of Judo, Prof. Jigoro Kano.

He enjoined members of the public to grace the occasion noting that the event is geared towards promoting human values such as; Honesty, Integrity, Friendship, Courtesy, Courage, Modesty, Self Control, Respect and Honour.
