Report coming in says the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA has suspended the referees that took charge of MFM matchday 19 NPFL encounter against Remo Stars in Lagos Sunday, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

In a release credited to the publicity secretary of the body, Kelechi Mejuobi Monday, the body “relaxed” the members and would not schedule them for assignments pending investigation on the outcome of the match in Agege, Lagos.

The release reads “I have been directed to issue the statement that the referees for the Week 19 NPFL in Lagos; MFM vs Remo have been relaxed for further appointments pending final determination of their cases while the Referee and the Assistant Referee 2 placed on Indefinite Suspension for now,” the stament signed by the secretary read.

Report has it that the centre referee on the match disallowed a dying minute goal scored by the host in order to allegedly favour the away team.

The affected officials
Auwal R from Zamfara State, Apine Emma from Benue, Chris from Delta
Salmanu .A from Kano while Gambo was the match assessor.

However, in an interview with Bestchoicesports.com.ng, Kelechi Mejuobi denied knowledge of the report adding that he did not endorse any statement regarding the suspension of the referees.
