Katsina United Chairman Debunks News On Payment Of Players’ Salaries

Chairman, Nigeria Professional Football League side, Katsina United, Abdussamad Badamasi has denied report making rounds in the media that salaries of the players of the club would be paid in 7 days’ time, Bestchoicesports.com.ng reports exclusively.
Report emerged Saturday that the management of the club has perfected modalities to pay the players their outstanding salaries.

Sequel to the unfounded news released Saturday that Katsina United players and officials’ salaries will be paid in seven day’s time, chairman of the club Abdussamad Badamasi who was quoted in the fake news has come out to debunk the story.
In the story, the chairman was quoted to have said “It is sad we are in this situation, this is a trying time for every one globally”.
“Hopefully all the players and officials will get their pay by next week, I assured you”.
The chairman who spoke with journalists in Katsina Sunday, said the story is fake adding that he did not grant any interview to anybody
“I was appalled when i came across the story quoting me, that players salary will be paid in seven days. How and when? Who did I say this to?
“This kind of story is terrifying, especially when you didn’t grant such interview,” he said.
Mr Badamasi however assured the players and officials that the management is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the receive the salary arrears in no distant time.
“There is no doubt that the outstanding salaries will be paid soon and we have already communicated to the players about it. But where this news emanated from still baffles me because I didn’t say anything about paying the salary in Seven days time to any Journalist,” he stressed.
Badamasi further further advised the public to always disregard any news about Katsina United that is not coming from the official media handles of the club
“I wish to advise the general public to always disregard any news about Katsina United FC that is not from the official media handles of the club to avoid unnecessary confusion.
“If there is any official statement or release, it will be posted on our official media handles,” he posited.
Badamasi concluded by thanking the state governor Rtd. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari for approving team’s salaries despite the continuous fight against Banditry, Kidnapping and Covid-19 in the state.
“Arrangement is ongoing to clear the outstanding salaries,” he concluded.
