Coach Kennedy Boboye has initiated legal proceedings against Heartland due to an outstanding debt of nineteen million naira (19,000,000) that the club owes him.

The two-time NPFL winner was dismissed by the Naze Millionaires just a month after his appointment, following an order from Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma to reinstate the late coach Christian Obi.

“I left without any issues, but they have refused to pay my outstanding wages after terminating my contract. It’s been almost a year now, and they seem unwilling to resolve it.

“My attempts to contact Heartland management regarding this matter have been unsuccessful,” the coach said

It could be recalled that Heartland management announced Coach Boboye as their new coach in the mid 2023/224 NPFL season but his appointment was terminated following the intervention of the state governor, Hope Uzodinma.

Obi was previously removed from the position earlier this season after he led the club back to the NPFL following a run of nine matches without a win and was replaced by former NPFL winner, Kennedy Boboye.
