The votes from the public are combined with those of a panel of football experts to decide the winner, who will be announced next week.

Pep Guardiola

Guardiola is seeking to win the award for the second time in three months to take his overall tally to seven.

April was the third month in a row that the Spaniard’s Manchester City side boasted a 100 per cent record, and perhaps their most important.

They beat top-four hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, as well as Cardiff City, Crystal Palace and Burnley, scoring nine times and conceding only once to stay top of the table.

Jurgen Klopp

Klopp also achieved a perfect month to keep the pressure on Man City in pursuit of Liverpool’s first Premier League title.

The German’s team averaged three goals per match in victories over Southampton, Chelsea, Cardiff and Huddersfield Town.

It took the second-placed Reds to 91 points for the season, more than they have reached in any previous PL campaign.

Scott Parker

The caretaker manager inspired a reaction from his Fulham side after their relegation was confirmed in a loss at Watford on 2 April.

After that 4-1 defeat, they beat Everton, AFC Bournemouth and Cardiff without conceding a goal.

Nuno Espirito Santo

With 10 points from five April matches, the Portuguese’s side moved up to 54 points in their first season since promotion.

All three of their victories came against teams in the top half: Man Utd, Arsenal and Watford.

That record lifted Wolves to seventh as Nuno seeks European qualification and a second Barclays Manager of the Month award to add to his September 2018 triumph.
