Plateau United coach Abdu Maikaba has stated that he is confident of leading first-team affairs for the Nigeria Professional Football League 2019/20 champion when the team gets her continental campaign underway.

Maikaba speaking in a chat with brila said the Jos based side haven’t spoken to any manager yet and have assured him of his position at the club.

He said in the eventuality of a manager coming to the team in fulfillment of the rule by CAF to have a manager with A License lead the team, such manager will only serve pure academic roles because he knows the team better than any manager coming to the team at this point.

Plateau United topped the 2019/2020 season after the Nigeria Football Federation aborted the league and used Point Per Game system to determine the three teams that will represent the country in the continent.

Other representatives include Enyimba FC of of Aba (Champions League) as well as Rivers United and Kano Pillars who are on the CAF Confederation Cup
