Former Manchester City and Italy international Mario Balotelli has joined Swiss Super League side, SC Sion

The former Liverpool forward put pen to paper with the Swiss club, leaving Turkey just days after his very public on-field row with coach Vincenzo Montella.

The 32-year-old underwent a medical in Sion on Wednesday morning ahead of the deal being completed.

The former Manchester City and Liverpool striker joined Adana Demirspor on a three-year deal in July 2021.

Just 13 months later he looks set to be heading out of the door at the Turkish Super Lig side, and his furious row with Montella could have a big part to play in his exit.

Balotelli had been enjoying somewhat of a renaissance in Turkey following his move to Adana Demirspor from Monza last summer.

Super Mario has played for numerous 11clubs in his career, including Inter, Manchester City, Liverpool, Milan, OGC Nice, Olympique Marseille, Brescia, Monza and Adana Demirspor.

The Italian scored 19 goals for the Turkish side last season, his second-highest return in a season after the 24 he netted for Nice in 2017-18.

The centre-forward turned 32 in August and has 14 goals in 36 senior caps for Italy.
