Mayor Of Africa Games Village Assures Nigeria Contingents of Adequate Security

Moroccan officials have assured Team Nigeria of adequate protection during and after the 12th Africa Games.
The Mayor of the Games Village, Rabat, Morocco, Mr Youssef Oliewzar, who is also the General Manager of the Village assured Nigeria contingents to the 12th Africa Games of adequate security, welfare and comfort, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.
The mayor made the assurance while hosting the Team Nigeria in a colourful ceremony at the Univeristie International in Rabat, the Games Village of the 12th African Games in Morocco.
Conducting the ceremony after the Nigerian National anthem, assured the Nigerian Contingent that “the welfare, comfort, protection of all athletes. Coaches and official is our first priority and that all necessary needs are already in place to that effect.”
Responding the head of Nigeria contingent and President, Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC, Engr. Habu Gumel thanked the Mayor, and also reminded him that the athletes are focused in playing clean to win medals which he said is the sole desire of His Excellency President Buhari.
He added that first position this time around from their 2nd podium finish in Congo Brazzaville is not negotiable.
The NOC boss further affirmed that Nigeria and the Kingdom of Morocco have had long standing relationships that has remained firmly peaceful and cordial over the years. He therefore admonished athletes to be disciplined, focused and obey all rules within and outside the field of play.
Best Choice Sports correspondent report that the colourful event had in attendance the Nigerian Deputy Ambassador to Morocco, Amb. Yahaya Danjuma Faruk representing Amb. Baba Garuba, the Acting Permanent Secretary, Mrs Hauwa Kulu Akinyemi was also present with other Directors of the Ministry.
A good number of athletes, couches, and the Captain of Team Nigeria Segun Toriola were all present during the welcome ceremony.
