Ministry, NFF Waiting For FIFA On U-20 Women World Cup Hosting

The minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare has disclosed that Nigeria’s quest to host the 2020 edition of FIFA U20 Women World Cup is still on course, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.
The minister who stated this Thursday while addressing journalists in Abuja, noted that the ministry and the Nigeria Football Federation have put modalities in motion to get FIFA’s nod to host the bienniel tournament but stressed that they are waiting for FIFA for the next line of action.
Speaking on Nigeria’s bid to host the 2020 FIFA Under 20-Womens world cup, the Oyo state born sport administrator said his ministry and the Nigeria Football Federation are in constant touch with FIFA to know the next line of action.
He said FIFA is looking at a single city hosting right which means Lagos might just get the nod as they are the only state that can come close to meeting FIFA’s requirement wthin the shortest possible time.
“As part of the requirements for hosting, FIFA have also highlighted some other conditions that Nigeria must meet between now and January 2020.
“These conditions according to the minister are seriously being looked into by the sports ministry but beyond that, the priority of the government is to at least get four national stadia refurbished and restored back to their best state before March, 2020,” Dare concluded.
