Nasarawa State Qualify For Governor Ganduje National Secondary School Deaf Football Tournament Final

Nasarawa State are through to the final of the 5th Inter-Secondary School National Deaf Football Championship, tagged “GANDUJE CUP”, which started on 26th of February, 2022, at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
The team who are making their debut at the tournament topped their Group ‘B’ standings with twelve points from four matches after seeing off Kebbi State 1-0; Jigawa State 1-0; Zamfara State 3-0 and Kaduna State 1-0 before beating long time rivals, Taraba State 2-1 in the Semi-finals to book a final ticket against Group ‘B’ counterparts, Kaduna State who also beat hosts, Kano State on penalty shootout(4-3) after regulation time ended 1-1 apiece.
Led by Coach Yanmama Muhammed, and supported by a powerful delegation made up of Jaji Ahmed(Games Master), Addo Musa Illu(Chairman, Nasarawa State Deaf and Dumb Sports) and Patricia Oshuwayine(State Secretary, Para Sports) Team Nasarawa look primed and poised to clinch the trophy for the first time as the odds favour them.
The tournament which is the 5th edition is hosted by the Nigeria Deaf Football Association in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education and Kano State Government, and will climax today, Wednesday, 9th March, 2022 with the final showdown slated for 4pm at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
Kaduna State won the last edition in 2021 in Kano.
