There is no denying the fact that Salim Fago Lawal, former Flying Eagles striker is in a terrific form in Europe after scoring another goal for NK Istra against Rijeka in Croatian elite league game played on Sunday.
The pacey striker, who is very deadly inside the box, pounced like a predactor after the goalkeeper failed to punch the ball to safety, as he displayed great striker’s instinct, beating the defender to the ball, before slotting the ball into the net in the 5th minute.
Rijeka proved to be hard nut to crack as the lead only lasted for four minutes for parity to be restored.
Nevertheless, it was NK Istra, being the home team, that showed more purpose and determination, with Lawal lurking around the opponents’ vital area in search of another goal before the weather became terribly bad and the game had to be abandoned due to fog in the first half.
