Newcomers Benue Buffaloes Shock Lagos Seasiders In Prudent Energy Handball League Opener, Pillars Too Hot For Police Machine

Debutants, Benue Buffaloes on Monday shocked Seasiders Boys of Lagos 29-22 in the opening match of the 2022 Prudent Energy Handball Premier League first match in Abuja.
The Food Basket of the Nation state, made do of their threats in pre-match interview not to respect any team in the league.
It was a nervy game for the Lagos Seasiders who lost their grip of the game. At a point in the game, they were trailing by 12 goal-margin before they narrowed it down to 7 in the final minutes of the game.
In another match played at the Velodrome, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, defending champions, Kano Pillars were too hot for Police Machine as they thrashed them 29-15 as they began their title defence on a sound footing.
Police Machine could not find their rhythm in the match as the Kano State owned club showed class and superiority in their victory.
In the female category, the opening match of the day saw Kada Queens of Kaduna being walked over by D-Defenders Babes of Abuja.
Meanwhile, there was another shocking result as newcomers, Rima Queens of Sokoto defeated Bendel Dynamos 31-29 in the second match that just ended few minutes ago.
In the 3rd match of the day, defending champions, Safety Babes of Abuja are taking on Seasiders Babes of Lagos
One minute silence was observed in honour of Late “Mama Handball” Hannatu Shuaibu who died in Abuja in February this year
