In a statement issued, the federation noted that all the four leagues in the country – Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL; Nigeria Women’s Football League, NWFL; Nigeria National League, NNL and Nationwide League One, NLO will all get their boards in the next one month
The statement noted that the constitution of the boards for all the league managers which will be within one month is in line with global best practices.
“The Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation met on Monday, 17th April 2023 at the NFF Secretariat, Abuja to deliberate on important issues in Nigeria Football and resolved as follows:
“In order to further rejuvenate the domestic game, the Board took a decision that within the next one (1) month, the Federation should, through its governing structure best practice and as enshrined in the Statutes, constitute boards for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), the Nigeria National League (NNL), the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) and the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO),” the statement read.
However, it is not clear if the federation will not include the female Division Two League, the NWFL Championship among the leagues whose boards would be constituted in the next four weeks.

The NWFL Championship (formerly NWFL Pro-League) is the Division Two League for the female while Nigeria National League, NNL is the male Division Two
