On three occasions Nigeria had adorned the jersey, the Super Eagles ended up on the losing side. For instance in the last Group match of the 2018 World Cup in Russia against Argentina as well as the last Group match against Madagascar in the ongoing AFCON tournament were the team wore the jersey, both matches ended in losses including Sundays semi-final.

Gernot Rohr’s men will face Tunisia, who were defeated 1-0 by Senegal, in the third-place match on Wednesday.
