Nigeria’s touch bearers in the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Club competitions now know their opponents in the first round of both CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup.

Nigeria will be represented by Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, Champions and uunners up, Enyimba International and Kano Pillars respectively in CAF Champions League. On the other hand Cup finalist Niger Tornadoes and defending Champions Rangers International will represent the country at the CAF Confederations Cup.

CAF Champions League

NPFL Champions, Enyimba International of Aba start their quest to reach the group stage with a tricky outing against Rahimo FC of Burkina Faso in the first Round of the competition. The winner of this two (2) legged tie will face the winner of the tie between Rayon Sports of Rwanda and Hilal of Sudan in Round 2 as well as play another two (2) legged Round 3 game before making it to the group stage.

NPFL runners up, Kano Pillars have a very difficult date to keep with West African neighbors, Ashante Kotoko of Ghana in Round 1. The winner of the tie will confront the winner of the tie between Haifa FC of Guinea and super heavy weight Espearance of Tunisia.

CAF Confederations Cup

In CAF second tier club competition, Cup defending Champions, Enugu Rangers got a bye from Round 1 and will face the winner of the tie between AS Pelican of Gabon and AS Maniema Union of Democratic Republic of Congo.

2019 Cup finalist, Niger Tornadoes will face Santos Conakry of Guinea in Round 1. The winner of the duel will play FC San Pedro of Cote divoire in Round 2.

Lobi Stars reached the group stage of last season CAF Champions League and couldn’t go pass that stage while Rangers International also made it to the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup but group stage too hot for comfort and so crash out.
