Nigeria has once again “lost” another player to England after Noni Madueke, full name Chukwunonso Tristan Madueke declared his intention to play for English Three Lions rather than Super Eagles of Nigeria, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The PSV Eindhoven forward signified his intention to play at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar with England.

Madueke has represented his country of birth from U15 to U23 level but has yet to hand a call-up into the three lions.

Reports claimed that Nigeria wants him to follow the footsteps of Alex Iwobi, Victor Moses and represent the Super Eagles.

Speaking to The Sun, the forward distanced himself from the reports and stated that he believes in his ability to break into the England set-up.

“I’m very confident in myself. In my head, there are no limits to what I can do.”

“I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future. But I will always back my ability.”

“You never know how football goes. I try to take every day as it comes. My bread and butter is my club.”

“If I’m winning games with my club, if I could be at the World Cup in 15 months, it would be great.” he said.

He is currently being transfer target for two English Premiership League sides Arsenal and Tottenham Spurs.

Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Southampton have all expressed their interest, according to the Standard, while Arsenal are also keeping tabs on the London-born £20 million-rated winger.

Madueke may feel that he has unfinished business on the other side of North London, however, with Tottenham looking to re-sign a man who captained their U16 side before heading out to Holland in search of more regular first-team opportunities.
