Disturbing news coming from Egypt, venue of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, has it that Super Eagles of Nigeria today boycotted press conference called for the team to brief the media ahead of their Wednesday Group B clash with Guinea, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

The team, it was also gathered, are poised to boycott their training scheduled for Tuesday evening by 4:30 local time citing lack of payment of camping and match allowances and bonuses.

Best Choice Sports gathered that coach Gernot Rohr briefed the media alone Tuesday but said that the players were in ameeting hence his being alone in the media parley.

The managent of the team had yesterday informed the world that
“Our official press conference holds 11am tomorrow, Tuesday.
Venue: Alexandria Stadium.
Our official training starts at 4.30pm at The Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport and is open for FIRST 15 MINUTES ONLY,” a statement posted on Twitter said.

But Ahead of Guinea clash, BJ Media reports that ” @NGSuperEagles camp is in confusion as players protest unpaid bonuses since #TotalAFCON2019 camping started. Only coach Rohr attended Tuesday’s pre-match conference & he confirmed this disgraceful development, the players had to stay back for an important meeting.”

While another report has it that “Super Eagles of are boycotting practice today. Players have gone on strike due to unpaid allowances.
Tuesday’s training scheduled for 14:15 Egyptian time hrs has been cancelled.”

It could be recalled that the Super Eagles in 2014 World Cup boycotted training a day before they played France in that year’s FIFA World Cup Round of 16.

Super Falcons who returned to Abuja yesterday after their World Cup campagin in France refused to leave their hotel on Sunday over none payment of their camping and match bonuses.
