Nigeria Weightlifting Congratulates Olopade On Appointment As DG NSC

The Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, NWF, has felicitated with Bukola Olapade on his appointment as the Director-General of Nigeria Sports Commission, NSC.
NWF President, Dr Ibrahim Abdul in his congratulatory message on Tuesday said that Mr Olopade’s appointment is not only meritorious but reaffirms President Ahmed Tinubu’s desire to resuscitate sports in the country.
Describing the new DG as a square peg in a square hole, Dr Abdul noted that the DG would bring his wealth of experience in the sports industry to bear in revolutionising the sporting ecosystem in the country.
“I read with delight the news about the appointment of my brother, Mr Bukola Olopade as the Director-General of the National Sports Commission, NSC. It is imperative for us to appreciate the President and Grand Commander of the nation, Ahmed Bola Tinubu for looking inward in revitalising the sporting ecosystem in the country.
“The appointment of Mr Olapade as DG and Mr Shehu Dikko as Chairman of the Commission, two technocrats in sports management and administration means that our sports are on the path of rebirth.
“I have firm faith on their ability to deliver and our sports will never be the same again” He said in a statement signed by the Federation’s Media Officer, Mr Amaechi Agbo
Olopade, the new Director-General of the National Sports Commission, is a sports administrator with many years of experience in the sector.
He served as commissioner of youth and sports in Ogun state and is the chairman of the local organising committee of the 2024 National Sports Festival.
