Nigeria won its first game at the ongoing FIBA U-16 African Championship after defeating host- Cape Verde 64-39 points.

The team which lost its first game to Egypt bounced back to pull off the victory in front of the home fans who were busy cheering their team on.

Usual culprit Reuben Abuchi Chinyelu posted a double-double performance, coming off the bench to score 20 points and 21 rebounds.

James Othuke Okemerie was the second best scorer of the night with 12 points while Bormini Victor Dennis contributed 8 points and 2 assists
