Poverty Fighters Handball Club of Abuja on Tuesday continued their impressive performance at the ongoing 3rd edition of the North-Central Handball Championship with 23-16 victory against Plateau Vipers.

The Abuja-based club set aside their matchday 3 blip against Niger United and bounced back to beat the Vipers in a game that had flair and fluidity.

It is the second win the team is recording in four matches.

The debutants will continue their fairy-tale on Wednesday when they battle another Premier League side, Confluence Stars of Kogi state.

The match will be the curtain raiser for the day’s proceedings as it will commence by 7:30am.

Poverty Fighters coach, Abdullahi Jibrin expressed optimism that the tournament is going according their plans.

He noted that the encounter against Confluence Stars on Wednesday will be decisive adding that the newcomers have grown along with the games.
