North Central Handball League Kicks-off February 23rd

The maiden edition of North Central Handball League is set to commence in Abuja next month, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report
The date was announced Wednesday during a press conference by the Conference of North Central Handball Chairmen Ex-international and the Secretary, association, Benjamin Peblow Obe, disclosed during the media interaction that the conference had also into a 3-year sponsorship contract with Geogojih Foundation.
Benjamin, noted that the league will be in two different segments with eight teams already registered for the championship which will hold in Abuja.
According to him “Despite organising the championship for the first time, a sponsor, Geogojih Foundation has come in to support us. This shows how much Nigerians love the game. And with time it will grow than this. Among the team that registered, we have about 6 to 7 premier league clubs. The championship will help the players, referees and officials from the North Central.
Also speaking, the spokesperson of Geogojih Foundation, Useni Mohammed said that the foundation decided to partner the North Central Conference because its belief and drive to promote handball in the country.
Mr Useni who is an ex international in handball and plied his trade in Cyprus during his days, added that the Geogojih Foundation has sponsored other handball championship including the sponsorship of national U-18 toe Cote D’Ivoire Africa U-18 championship in 2018.
“We have committed passion for handball development and that is why we are partnering with the Conference of North Central Handball Chairmen to promote handball in the region.
“This is not our first sponsorship agreement in promoting handball. We have done it severally including sponsoring Nigeria’s U-18 team to Cote D’Ivoire in 2018. The Foundation is made up of ex internationals and that is why our interest is particularly on handball for now,” he said.
The North Central Handball League will start commence from 23rd to 29th February, 2020 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja
