Kano Pillars Football Club moved out of the relegation zone in the ongoing 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL season after beating Katsina United by alone goal in the inconclusive matchday 23 they completed Thursday morning at Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Pillars put their maximum points in their pocket courtesy of Auwalu Ali Malam 89 minute goal with assist from central defender Abdullahi Musa.

Initially the match was started at Sani Abacha Stadium Kofar Mata Kano on 16 of last month but was stopped at 79 minutes of play due to distractions and encroachment by some unpatriotic football followers which lead the banishment of Sai Masu Gida to Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja since then.

The continuation of the match for the remaining eleven minutes was restart at exactly 8:17am and Kano Pillars, knowing what was at stake for them, came all out until they got what they desired in concluding moments of the match.

The victory pulls them out of the relegation zone as they now have 35 points from 29 games in the league.

In his post match interview the chief Coach of Kano Pillars Ibrahim Musa thanked God for the victory and commended his players for the commitment and fighting spirit they shown in the match.

Coach Ibrahim expressed delight with outcome of the match and assured that they would remain focused and continue fighting until they keep the team from going down to the relegation at the end of the season.

“We are real happy for the results we are getting since our banishment to MKO Abiola Stadium Abuja because we won all the matches we played here,” he said.

On his part Pillars captain who doubles as peace Ambassador Rabi’u Ali thanked God for the victory and appealed to the teeming supporters to continue praying for the success of the club in the remaining matches ahead.

“We accept what happened to us this season, the good one and the bad one in good faith because we believe in God’s decision all the time,” Ambassador Rabi’u maintained.
