Adamawa United Has been relegated from the elite Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL to second tier league, the Nigeria National League, NNL, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Their relegation was confirmed on Thursday after they suffered crushing 4-0 defeat in the hands of their hosts, Dakkada FC in Uyo in the Matchday 34 encounter.

Austine Osayande 20’, Sunday Awasa 28’, Jesam Uket 86’ and Rivio Ayemwenre 90’ were all the Akwa Ibom-based Club needed to send the Adamawa visitors back to the NNL.

This is the 3rd time Adamawa United are being relegated from the league in less than 15 years.

They were relegated from the Nigerian Professional Football League in 2007 after a one-year stint.

They were relegated from the league in 2012 but bought back the slot from promoted rivals Makwada F.C.

Adamawa United currently have 24 points from 34 games and lie on the foot of the log with 4 matches to play.

Even if they are able to win their last remaining matches, a mission impossible though, they will be on 36 points two points below Sunshine Stars of Akure who are on 38 points and in the relegation mud as well.
