The midweek clash between 4th-placed Nasarawa United FC versus 8th-placed Dakkada FC of Uyo at the Lafia City Stadium in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL matchday 16 has been shifted to Thursday, 18th March, 2021.

The League Management Company, LMC, announced that the match was one of the three midweek games moved due to logistics reason.Dakkada FC, nicknamed “The Chosen Ones” are making their first ever trip to Nasarawa State to Play Nasarawa United since gaining promotion to the elite Nigeria Professional Football League in 2019.

The pair’s first and only official top-flight meeting was in January 15th, 2020, at the God’swill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, in the first stanza of the aborted 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League Season.

The Solid Miners ran away with a 3-0 victory over the Chosen Ones. Anas Yusuf scored a brace and a goal from an unlikely source, Ibrahim Matthew. Just one point separates both teams in the current campaign, but United have always proven their mettle against teams from Akwa-Ibom.Akwa United got beaten 2-1 in Lafia last month, and the Solid Miners are insatiable, going forward, especially against another team from the oil-rich State.

Out of their seven previous home games, Nasarawa United have only lost once(against Enyimba), but secured five victories and one draw, which translates to an 85% home success rate, if not more.

With high expectations all around the camp of United before the league goes on a break on 5th April, a final whistle sound on Thursday afternoon might further advance them up the log.

Goalkeeper, Danlami Umar, who has stood in-between the sticks in all United’s fifteen games this season has so far kept five clean sheets, and appears more than ready to pull more clean sheets, while striker, Adamu Hassan, who already has four goals to his name will look to increase his goalscoring form.

The backline marshalled by Tebo and co will ensure a water-tight area against their tricky guests as the coaching staff headed by Bala Nikyu, will be dishing out relevant instructions to the players.
