NPFL23: Kwara United, Wikki Tourists Technical Crews Get Two-match Ultimatum

Following unimpressive performances by their teams in the four week old 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL season, the managements of Kwara United FC and Wikki Tourists FC have issued their respective technical crew a two-match ultimatum.

Issuing the direvtive on Sunday, the General Manager, Kwara United FC, Bashir Badawiy said the management will no longer tolerate any “negative result” from the technical team.

The two-match ultimatum came after Kwara United suffered a humilititing 3-0 defeat against Enyimba in Aba on Sunday.

“The team has no excuse not to perform, going by the commitment of the Government, determination of the management and sacrifice by the fans, supporters and stakeholders.

“They should rather perform or give way. We are playing in a dangerous league, the Abridged League and we cannot tolerate this kind of results,” he was quoted.

Kwara United are yet to secure their first victory in the league after picking two draws and two defeats in four games.

Similarly, Coach Kabiru Dogo and his technical members of Wikki Tourists FC has been given a “must-win” two-match ultimatum following their goalless draw against Doma United in Bauchi.on Sunday

In a letter signed by the club’s secretary Adamu Idris Pali and specifically addressed to coach Dogo on Sunday, Wikki Tourists management directed the technical crew to win their next two matches or be sacked.

“Squeal to the emergency meeting between the Board Members and management of Wikki Tourists Football Cllub Bauchi, I am directed to write to you the decision of the board of Wikki Tourists FC Bauchi.

“The board fined (sic) your performance very low which will lead to decline and fall of our state darling team.

“In view of the above therefore, the board has decided to give you an ultimatum of 2 must win matches or proper action will be taken against you considering the terms of our agreement with you and the management of Wikki Tourists Football Club.

“We hope you will give us the best of your ability for better better performance,” the club said.

Wikki Tourists drew goalless against visiting Doma United in Bauchi on Sunday.
