Former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu has disclosed that his darling team Enyimba International FC has not taking care of the way it should be since he left the sit 20 years ago.

In an interview with the NSM media, the Senate Chief Whip confirmed that Enyimba has not been doing well since he left due to lack of the personal attention which he offers to the club and media during his time.

According to him, “I have been following Enyimba since I left office as the governor of Abia State but its unfortunate that they are not been looked after the way it should be.

“I must say they are not doing well because during that time I was the Governor, i give every attention to their needs including journalist, coaches and officials around team.

“I will say one need alot of means and coordination to be able to run football.

Speaking on the team financial set back, Dr Kalu stressed that ,” I am not happy with what is happening to the team right now.

“Enyimba is at the international but it is sad to me that a team i loved so much is not doing well. we wanted to commercialised them which I briefed the governor I handed over but he failed to key into it.

“Since I left for the past 15years Enyimba has not done well. there is no motivation starting from the players to the media. they are struggling but I believe one day they will come back,” Senator Orji Uzor Kalu said.
