Otedola @60: MK Sports Shares Giant Cake In Abuja, Slaughters Five Cows For Widows

On 4th November, Nigeria’s foremost philanthropist and Business mogul, Femi Otedola marked his 60th Birthday with pop and ecstacy.

In Abuja, unbeknown to the humble and great achiever, a giant cake was also cut and shared as a football administrator, businessman and football club owner, Mr Nureni Makanjuola celebrated Mr Otedola on his great day.

Apart from visiting 100 mosques and Churches each, months before the great day,
Mr Makanjuola also killed five hefty cows to mark the auspicious day.

The cows were shared to Federal Capital Territory, FCT widows within the Apo area of Abuja who turned up in their hundreds.

Mr Makanjuola who is the CEO, MK Sports International and founder of Water Football Club of Abuja, also gave the widows sums of money to celebrate the day.

Mr Femi Otedola marked his 60th birthday on Friday

Speaking in an exclusive interview with our correspondent, Mr Makanjuola said he never met the celebrant in life adding that as someone who has touched the lives of so many Nigerians, he will continue to pray for him.

“I have never met him (Otedola) in life. What I did was to celebrate a man who has helped several Nigerians in various ways.

“I killed five cows to celebrate him. The cows were shared to widows in the FCT who came in large numbers.

“I also gave them some amounts of money to support them in whatever they are doing.

“I will continue to pray for him and Nigeria so that things will continue to go well,” he said.

Earlier in a press briefing, Mr Makanjulo announced the unveiling of a football tournament as part of his activities to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Mr Otedola.

Tagged “Ote4Wealth Football Championship” the competition will hold in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital from November 15 to 20 with the 36 states and the FCT expected to participate. The winner of the grassroots football event will go home with one million naira prize money.

Femi Otedola is a Nigerian businessman, philanthropist, and former chairman of Forte Oil PLC, an importer of fuel products.

He is the founder of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd, and the owner of a number of other businesses across shipping, real estate and finance. He has recently invested in power generation as part of the liberalisation of the sector in Nigeria.

In April 2019, Mr Otedola donated the sum of $50, 000 to then ailing former Super Eagles captain and coach, Christian Chukwu
