President Buhari Expresses Sadness Over Late NFF President, General Oneya

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness on the passing of former Nigeria Football Association (NFA) – now Nigeria Football Federation, NFF – Brigadier-General Dominic Obukadata Oneya (Rtd), www.bestchoicesports.com.ng

The president who made his sad feelings known via press statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu on Friday said Nigeria will never forget his excellent leadership as a Military commander and sports administrator.

“Nigeria mourns at the unfortunate demise of General Oneya, former Military Governor of Benue and Kano States. We remember his outstanding services to the nation through his career in the army and his one-time presidency of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF. May the Almighty repose his soul,” says the President.

President Buhari extendes the nation’s condolences to the family of the deceased General, the Agbarho community in Ughelli North, of which he was always proud and to the government and people of Delta State over the irreparable loss.

The remains of late Brigadier-General Dominic Obukadata Oneya, who died in his home in Warri on Thursday, will be buried on
10th September 2021.

The funeral rites would begin on 9th September.
