It has emerged that the fan who attacked Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye in Sparta Rotterdam away match against Vitesse did so after his penalty save and heroics in the night made the invader lose his game bet, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Sparta Rotterdam were leading 1-0 away to Vitesse and with the game winding into stoppage time, Okoye who saved a penalty in the 65th minute aside six other saves was forced to deal with a pitch invader before he was struck in the head with an object.

Maduka Okoye on loan from Watford, was part of the three goalkeeper s shortlisted by coach Augustine Eguavoen for the double header 2022 World Cup play-off matches against Black Stars of Ghana later in the month.
